Built in the 1960 on a narrow sloping lot, this Post and Beam Contemporary
had no room to expand without going up! The owners wanted to add a Master
Suite and new family room, so this 2-story addition was designed into
the small side yard, preserving all of the back yard as it was. The entryway
was extended to create a new hallway connecting the addition to the main
house. Key design elements were replicated in the new addition, including
the board and batten siding, the open beam ceilings, and the floor to
ceiling windows. The new Master Suite now looks out over the roof, giving
it the dramatic valley view that the home had not taken advantage of before. |
