This Spanish Revival home, built in 1909 on a corner lot, was completely
restored and enlarged. By adding a new library/music room at the original
front entry and moving the new entry to the other street frontage, some
of the original floor plan's " eccentricities" were corrected.
Originally the front door opened directly into the large living room,
with the re-design, a new foyer was created, making the living room more
formal. The wall between the living room and new library was partially
opened, maintaining the classic feel of the historic home, while allowing
more natural light to filter through the whole house. This home was chosen
for the 1st Annual Eclectic Eagle Rock Home Tour as an example of a well-integrated
addition to an Historic Home. The home has recently been named a Los Angeles
City Historic-Cultural Monument. |
